Proverbs 29:18 says, where there is no vision, the people perish. Proverbs makes it clear that without a purpose, a dream, or goal people die. It’s not talking about a physical death but a mental and spiritual one. There is nothing more heartbreaking than to see a person not fulling their purpose in life. To live and to never fulfill the vision that God has created someone to accomplish is a wasted life.
Having a vision keeps you focused. It keeps you from wasting time, energy, and resources. I know people, because they didn’t have a vision they wasted years in a relationship or worked a job that they’ve hated for years. Life is not supposed to be lived wastefully or fearfully. When you have vision there is a sense of excitement added to your life. Living becomes more beautiful, waking up is less depressing and you know that what you go through is leading to something better.
God has a vision for you, a huge vision. One that you can’t even fathom. He’s so into his vision for your life that he was willing to lay down his life so that you could fulfill it. Stop wasting your life and start living it! If you don’t have a vision than ask God for one! He’ll give you one and the most exciting part is that he’ll help you accomplish it.
Pray this, Jesus, my savior, the lover of my soul, the God who makes all things work together for my good and for your glory, I ask that you give me a vision for my life. Help me to see who you have called me to be. Remove all fear and any sin that hinders me from fulfilling what you have created me to do. I love you and I thank you for loving me. In Jesus name I pray amen.
